Ballygowan Parent & Toddler Group operates in the village hall every Tuesday morning (during term time) from 9.45am to 11.45am and has approximately 30 babies and toddlers on the registar.

We are run by mums, grandparents and carers who come with our own children, grandchildren and minded children.

Without the support of the group of us who volunteer to run the group every week toddlers would be unable to run. We need volunteers to set out the toys in the morning at approximately 9.30pm and chairs, make tea and do dishes from approximately 10.30 - 11.30am,  tidy away from 11.30 - 11.45 and we would appreciate anyone who has singing or musical skills.

If you do have a child of your own and don't already come you are more than welcome to come along, but if your children are past toddlers age-group and have some time to spare - maybe even in the kitchen please get in touch! Drop in on a Tuesday morning and talk to Lillian or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Ballygowan Parent and Toddler Group

Village Hall |Belfast Road| Ballygowan | BT23 6HX

Ballygowan Parent and Toddler Group is held every Tuesday morning during term time from 9.45am to 11.45am in Ballygowan Village Hall, Belfast Road, and Ballygowan.  It is open to any parent, grandparent or carer with a baby or toddler.

Our aim is to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment for your child where they can continue their personal and social development secure in the knowledge their parent or carer is nearby.

They are encouraged to be 'kind' to each other and 'gentle' with the younger babies learning to take turns and sharing the equipment. These are all actions that help sow the seeds for the 'foundation stage of learning' and will stand them in good stead as they prepare for school.

We start playtime off with ‘free play’ babies can play on the mat with suitable toys, toddlers and wobblers can play with ride ons, push alongs, jigsaws, paint, play with playdough, role play with the kitchen, feed the babies and take them for a walk, or they can read with their adult in story corner or score a goal in our football net. Our break time is 10.35am when children get some fruit, toast and juice, adults can get a cup of tea and coffee and a chat with other mums, granparents and carers.

After break time we have parachute play, or bubbles followed by Song time with music instruments.

We also like to celebrate holiday times such as Halloween, Christmas and Easter. Or if a childs birthday falls on a Tuesday we encourage you to bring a cake and we all sing Happy Birthday…

We hope to see you there.
